Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 23, 2026

This policy explains what Flexr, operated by Lacyan (“Flexr”, “we”, “us”), collects when you use the Flexr mobile app, why, and how you can delete it.

01Accounts

Flexr starts you as an anonymous guest—no email, no sign-up. Your scores and profile exist on this device/account from the moment you open the app.

If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your Google account’s email address, used solely to let you sign back in and recover your account on a new device. We do not use it for marketing and do not sell it.

You may also connect these services, entirely at your option, each of which requires you to sign in to that service directly (we never see your password for them):

ServiceWhat we read
GoogleEmail address (sign-in only)
LichessChess rating, username
osu!Performance points (pp), username
GitHubPublic follower count, username
AniListAnime minutes watched, manga chapters/volumes read, username
SteamSteam ID, display name, owned games, playtime per game, account level, achievements
Chess.comPublic chess rating (via their public API; no sign-in)

Removing an individual service isn’t supported yet. Deleting your account removes these connections along with everything else attached to your profile—see §8.

02Location

Flexr is a location-based leaderboard app. Location is opt-in—if you never grant permission, you are never placed on the map. If you grant location permission, we read your device’s GPS position to:

  • Determine which local leaderboards you rank on (area, city, province, nation), in addition to the global board.
  • Show your position on the in-app map, to other users, as an approximated pin—never your exact coordinates. Your displayed position is snapped to a coarse grid (roughly 1 kilometer) with a further randomized offset unique to your account, so it cannot be used to determine your precise real-world location or track your movement.

Any distance shown to another user (“2.1km away”) is measured from that approximated pin, not from where you actually are—so it can never be combined with the pin to narrow down your real position.

You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; the app continues to work with reduced (or no) regional ranking. Premium subscribers can additionally use “Invisible on the map” to stay off the map while keeping location-based rankings (see §7); note that the free way to stay off the map is simply to not grant location permission.

The map itself. The map is drawn using map tiles fetched directly by your device from OpenFreeMap(tiles.openfreemap.org), a free, keyless map tile service. While the map is open, your device requests the tiles for the area on screen, which means OpenFreeMap sees your IP address and roughly which part of the world you are looking at. It receives no account identifier, nothing that identifies you personally, and nothing at all from us—we do not send them your data. This is how a map works in any app; we mention it so you know which third parties your device talks to.

03Profile & gameplay data

  • Profile: username, display name, bio, avatar photo you choose to upload, and (if you provide it) a self-declared nationality (a country you pick; shown as a flag, independent of where you are).
  • Gameplay: your scores in each game (Speed Math, Tetris, 2048, Block Blast, Sudoku), and, for the built-in games, a record of your inputs during a match. That input record exists solely to verify your score wasn’t produced by a script or a modified client—it is not used to build a behavioral profile of you, and is not shared with anyone. We also keep a daily snapshot of your rank so we can show you how you’ve climbed over time.

04Purchases & Premium

Flexr offers an optional premium subscription and optional one-time support purchases.

  • How payment works: all purchases are processed by Google Play Billing and managed through RevenueCat, our payments infrastructure provider. We never see or store your card or payment details—those stay with Google. RevenueCat receives the purchase event and your app-generated user identifier to validate the purchase and tell our server you’re entitled.
  • What we store about purchases: whether your subscription is active, your cumulative lifetime pledge total(the sum of what you’ve paid), which cosmetic options you’ve selected (profile border, background, displayed title), and which titles you’ve unlocked. We do not store payment card data.
  • What is public: your lifetime pledge total, your displayed title, and your position on the Patrons (“richest”) board are public to other users—that board is the point of the feature. Your billing details and renewal dates are never public.

05What is public

Flexr’s core feature is public, local leaderboards. The following is visible to any other user of the app:

  • Username, display name, avatar, bio, self-declared nationality (flag)
  • Your rank and score in every game/service you’ve connected
  • Your approximated (never exact) map position, unless you are a premium subscriber with “Invisible on the map” enabled, or have not granted location
  • If you are a patron: your title and lifetime pledge total (Patrons board)

06What we do NOT do

  • We do not run advertising, and do not use an advertising ID.
  • We do not use third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
  • We do not sell your data to anyone.
  • We do not access your contacts, camera roll beyond a photo you explicitly choose, microphone, SMS, or call history.

07Where your data is stored, and who processes it

  • Backend: Flexr’s data runs on Supabase, a third-party cloud infrastructure provider that hosts our database and stored files in the Oceania (Sydney) region (AWS ap-southeast-2). If you are in the EU or UK, note that your data is processed and stored in Australia.
  • Payments: Google Play Billing and RevenueCat process purchases (see §4).
  • Flag images are loaded from a third-party flag CDN (flagcdn.com) by country code; no personal data is sent to it.

08Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account, and everything attached to it—your profile, scores, connected services, and purchase entitlements—from Profile → Settings (the gear, top-right) → Delete account. This is immediate and cannot be undone; we do not retain a backup of deleted accounts. (Deleting your account does not cancel an active Google Play subscription—manage or cancel that in the Play Store; see §4.)

You can also request deletion from outside the app by emailing laciel555777@gmail.com from the address linked to your account, and we will delete your account and its associated data.

09Children

Flexr is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your region, if higher). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age.

10Changes to this policy

We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when this changes, and for significant changes we’ll show an in-app notice.
